Physician Fellow Teaching in Ethiopia

After completing a fellowship in Orthopedic Trauma and Arthroplasty Surgery at the University of Kansas Hospital, Dr. Abiy Worku mentors junior colleagues and residents, passing on the valuable skills he learned during his training. His role is crucial because over 50,000 people annually lose their lives to traumatic injuries in Ethiopia, with 67% of these deaths attributed to ORT (Road Injuries, Interpersonal Violence, Self Harm, Fall Injuries). Dr. Abiy’s work is making a significant impact on improving trauma care in the country.
