Trauma: The New Epidemic will be screen on Tuesday, April 8th from 7:00 – 8:00 PM at the Forum at Marvin Hall at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, in partnership with the African Studies Department.

About Our Documentary

Due to industrialization in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, trauma is claiming lives at an unprecedented rate. As the city’s population and labor force grows, injuries have skyrocketed. Our documentary follows the journey of Dr. Abiy and Dr. Solomon, two dedicated fellows from Addis Ababa who are part of our Physician Fellowship Program. Together, they are taking on the challenge of combatting the trauma epidemic in their homeland. The full documentary is set to release in 2025. Trauma: The New Epidemic was selected for Kansas City Film Festival International where it was the only film to sell out two screening. At Uplift Film Festival, Trauma: The New Epidemic won Best Documentary Short.
