Our Physician Fellowship Program brings physician fellows from underserved regions to the forefront of orthopedic medicine.
At the University of Kansas School of Medicine, our fellows undergo an intensive one-year training program. This experience is about immersing them in hands-on learning that prepares them to improve the trauma Epidemic that takes the life of millions of people in Africa. Fellows shadow physicians in the U.S., gaining insight into the clinical workflow and patient care strategies.
Through the use of cadaver and bone cutting labs, fellows simulate surgeries, improving their skills in a controlled, educational environment. Simulations with state-of-the-art equipment equips them with knowledge and techniques that are often inaccessible in their home countries.
After returning home, our fellows are ready to improve their local healthcare landscapes. Our continued collaboration ensures they are supported as they apply their newfound expertise. We provide their hospitals access to essential orthopedics supplies, including implants, screws, surgery beds, braces, and C-Arm machines. This support system ensures their training extends far into the future.
